San Francisco

I went to San Francisco in September – somewhere I had always wanted to visit. I especially loved North Beach, Chinatown, The Castro and The Haight.

There were plenty more places I didn’t make it to but at least I had a couple of friends living in the area and others who had recently visited and given me tips. As a result I got to try the best dumplings in town (at King of Dumpling), had delicious breakfast at Mama’s on Washington Square and got to meet an adorable cat and see a spectacular nighttime view from my friend’s rooftop (no photos of that unfortunately).

The sun came out at some point and brought all the lovely pastel colours to life. We stayed at Casa Loma hotel which wasn’t too pricey and had friendly staff. The location was good too. If only we’d stayed there over a weekend, when the Church of 8 Wheels is open across the road – an actual church which opens as a roller disco on Fridays and Saturdays.
