Lisbon – first impressions

I arrived in Lisbon at the end of September, but didn’t manage to blog immediately as I had to find a place to live then wait for internet to be installed in my flat (for FIVE WEEKS!) Anyway, this is just a quick post to get the ball rolling.

In short, I love it here. Despite the stress of the initial bureaucracy and the rather drawn-out process of getting settled, I’ve been walking round with little cartoon hearts in my eyes.

There are so many beautiful buildings and miradouros (viewpoints) from which you can see a great deal of the city. I live at the top of a steep hill, which can be tiring, but also means there are plenty of gorgeous views. There are lots of friendly people and interesting bars, cafes, museums, galleries etc.

These photos were taken at Castelo de Sao Jorge, Belem, The Berardo Collection Museum and Cascais beach.

More coming soon. Much more…

  1. I saw the first few photos and thought “What gorgeous photos!” without realizing it was Lisbon. I’ve been there twice and loved it 🙂
